Previous art therapy session, therapist sent me to A&E to be assessed by psychiatrist. Afterwhich, I didn't receive my appointment card and I was wondering what happen. Hence, decided ti give it a try to email my therapist, whether session stopped or still continuing.
Next day, I got a call from psychiatry dept whom told me she read my email to my therapist and asked what happened. The staff made the appointment for me on 3rd Jan 2013 & was informed my therapist was outstation.
The day came, when I was supposed to see my therapist. She asked me how did I got her email address when she didn't even give me at all. I was trying my luck, since the hospital email is using the staff's name. Therapist kept asking me as if I am a criminal. She told me she felt that her privacy been intruded and felt intimidating and threatened by my email. Did I did something very wrong?
My headache was so tensed and I felt losing myself & burst out in loud voice citing I don't wish to to talk about it. I broke down & was feeling very guilty...felt I wasn't in control of myself...I ost myself to something.
At the end of the session, I did apologized to my therapist and she accepted it. Saying we should have mutual understanding and that I shouldn't do this. Later, I was informed that she will be on maternity leave soon.
I couldn't sleep, felt that am very very bad and lotsa crying episodes...Even fell sick after the session.

Diagnosed w/sleeping disorder & OSA on 20 Jun 2012.
Diagnosed with sleeping disorder and OSA on 20 Jun 2012. ENT specialist prescribed that am to be on AutoCPAP and see me on end Aug. However on waiting list at least 2 mths with free rental for 2 wks...afterwhich I oso dunno for sure.
The nasal mask alone costs $300 over and CPAP machine costs $2000 to $3000. Otherwise hv to be on waiting list of 2 mths, pay hospital for rental of CPAP machine $25 per month.
AM REALLY AT MY WITS END!!

During sleep in patients who are suffering from Sleep-Apnea, these lifethreatening strangulations will occour up to 20-30 times pr. hour, every night. Permanent brain damage can occur after as little as three minutes and death will inevitably ensue after a few more minutes unless ventilation is restored. Hypopnea (sometimes spelled hypopnœa) is a medical term for a disorder which involves episodes... of overly shallow breathing or an abnormally low respiratory rate. This differs from apnea in that there remains some flow of air. Hypopnea events may happen while asleep or while awake.
During sleep, hypopnea is classed as a sleep disorder. With moderate to severe hypopnea, sleep is disturbed such that patients may get a full night's sleep but still not feel rested because they did not get the right kind of sleep. The disruption in breathing causes a drop in blood oxygen level, which may in turn disrupt the stages of sleep.
Daytime hypopnea events are mostly limited to those with severely compromised respiratory muscles, as occurs in certain neuromuscular diseases. Similarly, daytime hypopnea can also cause a drop in blood oxygen level.
The CPAP machine blows air at a prescribed pressure (also called the titrated pressure). The necessary pressure is usually determined by a sleep physician after review of a study supervised by a sleep technician during an overnight study (polysomnography) in a sleep laboratory. The titrated pressure is the pressure of air at which most (if not all) apneas and hypopneas have been prevented, and it is usually measured in centimetres of water (cmH2O). The pressure required by most patients with sleep apnea ranges between 6 and 14 cmH2O. A typical CPAP machine can deliver pressures between 4 and 20 cmH2O. More specialised units can deliver pressures up to 25 or 30 cmH2O.
CPAP treatment can be highly effective in treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. For some patients, the improvement in the quality of sleep and quality of life due to CPAP treatment will be noticed after a single night's use. Often, the patient's sleep partner also benefits from markedly improved sleep quality, due to the amelioration of the patient's loud snoring.
Given that sleep apnea is a chronic health issue which commonly doesn't go away, ongoing care is usually needed to maintain CPAP therapy. Based on the study of cognitive behavioral therapy (referenced above), ongoing chronic care management is the best way to help patients continue therapy by educating them on the health risks of sleep apnea and providing motivation and support.
