Mental Health First Aid @ SSTI, 19 March 2012

I was invited by Silver Ribbon Sg for 'Mental Health First Aid @ SSTI, 19 March 2012' to share about my depression. This is my 2nd sharing session.

Was worried as suddenly, I've got headache & gotto lie on bed & sleep for an hour plus. Luckily, managed to go to Ulu Pandan CC.

Invited to be guest speaker at Jardine 3 Mar 2012

Felt so honoured, I was invited by Porsche Poh from Silver Ribbon Singapore to be guest speaker at Jardine on 3 Mar 2012.

Sharing about my depression experience & got to know more friends too. The staffs are very friendly, caring & helpful, felt so welcomed. :o)

Very nice experience as I got to interact with people & give me hope.

Workfare-Skill Up Motivational Workshop 1-2 Mar 2012

SWCDC career consultant signed me up for the a/m workshop which was held for 2 days at Tradehub21. Together with my newly made friend Rosidah, we attended the same workshop.
Total of 9 participants including myself. Our trainers are Stephen & Carel whom both took turns to conduct the sessions. It was really fun filled where we get to be engaged in lotsa activities & learn some skills.

Feddup at rehab physio

Tdy phyiotherapist made both my mom & myself damn ANGRY! A wk b4 CNY oredi down with fever, flu, v bag cough only to recover just these few days & say we're not hardworking, didnt do the exercises at home & dun believe we're sick. Sick oso can bluff one meh, moreover when I was at LIFE ctr just last wk, Step saw me coughing v badly w/difficulty breathing. This physiotherapist she herself recently like v deep in thoughts staring blankly in the air like that. Put 4 pounds of wt on both my legs & can laugh away when I had difficulty walking!! WTH

Gym

Took light breakfast (2 slices of wholemeal bread w/cheese & 1/2 cup coffee) b4 heading to LIFE gym but then BG 16.1 & Step told me scarcastic that I shld knw that I shldnt eat b4 gym & if need be, take v light breakfast. Hence, asked her back, how light the breakfast shld be? When I dun eat anything b4 exercise, u all told me must eat something...what u want me to do leh?! Didnt knw that the gym am sesion till 12.30 nn mah..


Expect me to work out >2hrs at gym n carry 2 kgs wts. If am able to carry such heavy stuffs, I no need to see orthorpaedic physio & braces lah...I can even carry u ppl & throw le. For >a wk after gym, now knee pain back so much & old injury pain on shoulder blade comes back!!

40 Tips for an Exceptional NEW YEAR

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.

2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you must.

3. Tape your late night shows and get more sleep.

4. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, "My purpose is to___________ today."

5. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.

6. Watch more movies, play more games and read more books than you did in 2007.

7. Make time to practice meditation and prayer. They provide us with daily fuel for our busy lives.

8. Spend more time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6.

9. Dream more while you are awake.

10. Eat more foods that grow on trees and in plants and eat fewer foods that are not manufactured in
 plants.

11. Drink plenty of water.

12. Try to make at least three people smile each day.

13. Clear your clutter from your house, your car, your desk and let new and flowing energy into your
 life.

14. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive, present moment.

15. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

Extremely cold

These few days, weather been extremely cold...freezing at night. Oh...what a nice weather to slumber in bed without having to wake up so early.

Guessing why been so long didnt blog, oh well, just dont feel like it.

Life's stagnant...how to work hard to get back on track. Well, someone has to gimme a chance by hiring me part-time, getting my confidence/ self-esteem back. Also up my social status rather than being a hermit at home.

Heads up for trains disruptions

Maybe consider hvg 'black box' installed inside MRT, whatever happened, able to retrieve data for investigation. SMRT, can u show the public where is the 'standby ventilation system'? How wld u handle passengers with panic disorder/ anxiety disorders (further worsening their condition - medical compensation for hvg causing distress to them?), physical disability in wheelchair/ leg problem & elderly (expect them to walk such long distance on the railway?)
