Tdy went to pay respect to late grandmother, afterwhich we had lunch at Hong Lim Food Centre with my doting Uncle Augustine (whom's a pastor) & mother hvg Prawn Noodle intro by Kym Ng's show "Mian Dui Mian".

SUCCESSFUL 1st attempt - Satay Porkurger

Just now, 1st attempt making Satay Porkurger. It was very SUCCESSFUL as it turns out very nice, juicy & one would yearn to have another one more. hehe...

All u need is some flour, spring onion, cumin & egg.

Japanese Almond pudding that melts in my mouth

Noon, make the jap almond pudding, had to mix the sachet with fresh milk, bring to boil while stirring...switch off fire, add milk again. Stir slightly when pouring into mould. Wow! Waited patiently, smells so nice....2 hrs passed in fridge.

Had it after dinner, WOW!! Melts in my mouth WOR!!

Successful - Making pork chop on 1st attempt!!

Yippie!! It was a successful 1st attempt on making pork chop!! Mother been saying she longed for pork chop but outside sell very expensive. Hence, I went to get the ingredients at NTUC. Mother praised me, consider very good since I don't know how to cook & it's my very 1st attempt. Hehe..

My latest salad creation - Jap cucumber, Iceberg lettuce, Carrots, Jap sesame sauce, Roasted sesame, Post morning cereals. So NICE!!

Made Hotcakes

This morning, went to NTUC to get pancake flour to make some hotcakes. My 1st attempt was very successful! Of course, the 1st one was not so good, too browned..haha As I made some more, it just gets better.

Bought Betty Crokers pancake mix. 1 cup of pancake mix, 3/4 cup of milk, 2 eggs. Whisk till batter no crumbs. Depending on ur thickness of hotcake preferences, 2-5 tablespoons of mixture into non-stick pan. Make it a bit brown for more fragrance.

went orchard central for ben n jerry ice cream. weird is gtta Q from lvl 1 then they escort to lvl 8 where given a blue stick to exhange for it.. had 4 scoops..this time th cone not crunchy n eggy enuf...like the macadamia n cookies...asked the staff to take a pic for me too n send to me..hehe

LNY cookies

Went IKEA just now, bought 2 x traditional nonya pineapple tarts & 1 x cashew nut,  moreover they're affordable at $8 & $6.50. Ytd, bought melting almond at $6.50 oso. All homemade by Simei East Kitchen. I wanted to buy the love letter oso but hor, wait I binge even more than how, purge ah?

I almost purge just now when I was halfway thru my meal of poached salmon & mushroom soup. I din finish at all, felt so bloated.

Last eve,on my way home on bus 198. I was damn famished! I took out my pretz & binge on it. Wah! Feeling's ultra high!

17 Jan 2010 Mother's birthday

Brought mother to Red Star Restaurant to celebrate birthday for her. Mother enjoyed dim sum & we go around looking for waitress to pick dim sum we wanted. We did not Q for long as we had a nice cosy corner. Vividly, reminds me of Mayflower restaurant when I was very young at age of 5. Always having egg tarts, century egg porridge, fun cheong. Siew Mai & Har Gao & Wu Kok lose out to the one at ION Food opera. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves.

Hmm...wonder any stalls at Chinatown selling nice turtle soup. Been decades since last had it. lol...the thot of it, rejuvenate my whole body and mind! :o)
